Would I buy this house myself? The honest answer is - yes, I would. First of all - because of location. It's only a 5 minute walk from my favourite Holden Lake with trout and bass fishing, boating, trails around picturesque marsh and through untouched forest. Nanaimo River is also a few minutes away, the same as ocean waterfront with one of the best marinas in our area. Basically everything is close to this quiet location - downtown Nanaimo, Cedar shopping area, Southgate Shopping Mall, Island Hwy, Duke Point Ferry Terminal, Nanaimo airport (good news- you can't hear them).

 

The second reason, why this house would work for me and many other people - it's spacious,  half acre lot, big enough to put a few RV's, boats.. whatever else, not to mention wonderful opportunities for gardening.

 

The third - the house itself. Big enough for extended family (4 bedrooms + bonus room or 5 bedr if needed) and cozy enough for 2-3 people with main living area + one bedroom downstairs with direct access to the backyard from the kitchen. As you can see in the pictures, it has hardwood floors, 2 natural gas fireplaces, oversized bathrooms, laundry, garage. Heating cost is very low due to a heat pump and heat recovery ventilation. Hard to believe, but if you are a senior, you will be paying only $1,053 in property tax per year! This house is very clean, well maintained, easy (and fun!) to show and the seller is flexible on the completion date.
